Freeze-Drying
Freeze-drying is a mild and therefore very common method to conserve and stabilize many active substances, whether they are proteins, inactivated or living substances. At low temperatures in a controlled vacuum, water is extracted from the material by sublimation. The material structure is, however, mostly preserved. Vibalogics makes use of its years of experience in the development of freeze-drying to achieve optimal results.

We know the critical factors of such a process and try to avoid such effects as the precipitation of buffer components due to higher concentrations or pH changes. These effects result in denaturation, aggregation or reduced reconstitution and therefore to a loss of bioactivity or even toxic effects.

The targeted change of parameters in the freezing and drying processes helps to optimize residual moisture content and /or morphology of the freeze-dried cake and many other characteristics.
